Palazzo Fulcis De Bertoldi is the most important eighteenth-century building in Belluno, three thousand square meters of exhibition space distributed over five floors and divided into 24 rooms; recovered eighteenth-century stuccos and frescoes; a respectful and exciting setting. The building develops starting from the ground floor, the place of the main entrances from via Roma through the ticket office / bookshop, and from the historic staircase that is taken from the entrance hall, to the basement and to the upper floors (first and second), where the thematic areas, with a large hall with a balcony frescoed in 1776 by Costantino Cedini, up to the third floor dedicated to temporary installations, as well as the exhibition of paintings by Sebastiano Ricci’s Camerino d’Ercole. Thus configured, the Civic Museum of Belluno comes to present itself as a unique case in Veneto: the city collection housed in one of the most beautiful eighteenth-century urban buildings in the Region, where the size of the Palace, already in itself a great attraction, coexists with that of the museum and historical-artistic collections. Bartolomeo Montagna, Domenico Tintoretto, Matteo Cesa, Andrea Brustolon, Marco and Sebastiano Ricci, Ippolito Caffi, but also the precious collections of porcelain, the rare bronzes and Renaissance plaques, the collection of drawings and engravings of the highest quality have now a new home.
